Judicial Experience
Judge Pro Tempore of the Arizona Court Appeals, Division One (1995).
Judge Pro Tempore of the Maricopa County Superior Court, Civil Division (1987-2005). Presided over more than 75 trials (both bench trials and jury trials) involving claims of wrongful repossession and wrongful disposition of consigned property, as well as real property disputes and personal injury cases. As a participant in the Pro Tem Settlement Conference Project (1994-2005), presided over numerous settlement conferences, the large majority of which involved personal injuries and were successful.
Judge Pro Tempore of the Maricopa County Superior Court, Criminal Division (1998-2005). Presided over plea calendars, sentencing, extradition calendars, and probation violation calendars.
Full-Time, Paid Judge Pro Tempore of the Maricopa County Superior Court (January through November 1999). While assigned a Special Assignment Calendar for four months, presided over lengthy civil and criminal trials, including a four-week ERISA-related professional liability action and a medical malpractice/civil rights suit against a county and sheriff. Also covered motion calendars for unavailable judges, handled numerous criminal and civil appeals from the justice and municipal courts, and covered a criminal commissioner’s calendar for six months.
