Expert Arbitration & Mediation Services
I started conducting settlement conferences as a judge pro tem in 1992. Since receiving formal mediation training in 1995, I have devoted my law practice almost exclusively to providing alternative dispute resolution services as both an arbitrator and mediator. Since then, I have conducted hundreds of mediations and presided over much arbitration.
My more than 20 years as a judge pro tem (including time in a full-time paid position on the Maricopa County Superior Court) presiding over numerous bench and jury trials have provided me with the skills necessary to be an effective arbitrator and mediator.
Part of my success is owing to the fact that, in addition to my judicial experience, I practiced law as a trial and appellate attorney as a sole practitioner and in both large and small law firms. I have represented civil litigants on both sides of disputes, from personal injury claimants and defendants/insurers to consumers and business owners.
I have litigated, judged, mediated, and arbitrated almost every kind of civil case (except family law, which I have never practiced and do not do as a neutral).
In 2011, I became one of the founding members of the Arizona Chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
